productivity!

I know I had just been tossing around the idea of merging my blogs (Slightly Out of Focus) with this blog. I went ahead and did it. This will actually be the first of my 365 Project. I'm glad I'm not going back and forth, directing anyone here to click this link and go over there! See! Look! There! There are some other things I may change, depending on when I can think this all out at a normal hour of the day, over the course of a few weeks. I know, I know. I said I'm taking a small break, but mostly from writing more than how many photographs this covers for the year. I can barely cobble this together. But without further ado, here is the first of many 365 posts for 2015.

a quick update

I'm sure I have mentioned how much I enjoy the blog A Beautiful Mess. I have been waiting for an entire week for their app to come out and it's always fun to play with new apps and mix them up with different apps and media as well. I'll share with you what I have come up with within my first day of using the app. These ladies are very inspiring, starting from scratch with their store, their website, and everything. It's the number one app in the store right now. I'm sure they're very proud. Today was nice and warm. Matt and I went to the mall to have lunch and so he could purchase more work shirts. I'm deep into my F Scott Fitzgerald reading month. I've already seen The Great Gatsby and I enjoyed it immensely. Matt and I agree that Tobey Maguire was one of the best things about the movie. I'm really sad that I lost my ticket stub and Matt already discarded his. Blurgh. Woe is me. I will have a ton of other ticket stubs within the next two months. I've made a list and we'll be seeing about ten movies by mid-June. It'll be fun!

If you haven't visited my blog in a while, click here to check out the new design updates. I'm trying to go for a simpler look. I'll be back with more books and more photographs. I promise

feeling crafty: artist trading cards

Went to the craft store for mod podge. Left with a few other things...

I went to the craft store, intending to only purchase some ModPodge. Instead, I walk out with the above items. Ack! Going through all of my boxes, I realize I was missing my sketchbook. That made me so sad. I honestly just don't know where it went. I treated myself to a new one, although I know, I have dozens of notebooks/sketchbooks at home. It was only $4 so it wasn't breaking the bank, plus it came with a pencil. As you can see, I also purchased some artist trading cards.

Would anyone be interested in receiving one from me? I have three reserved for some dear friends, so that leaves two, blank cards, begging to be dressed up. I tend to collage and paint with these sorts of things. If you'd like to be one of the lucky two with a personalized trading card, leave a comment or shoot me an email: mkephotoge@gmail.com

All of the books.

Did I move, you ask? Yes, I did indeed. Back at home to save money so I can get the hell out of this city! Talking to Erin yesterday made me want to leave even more (haha, Erin, you don't make me want to leave, but our conversation inspired me). The sucky thing is I am terrible at asking people for help. I don't like to burden others with something that I am perfectly capable of doing myself. I guess that is a character flaw of mine-- I don't ask for help! My fella offered to help Wednesday, but I was so hesitant and apprehensive about it and didn't give a definite answer so he made other plans. He did, however, buy me pizza like he promised. A beer, too. This little mover was very happy. I spent all day Wednesday, shuttling boxes back and forth. Thursday was a little bit more relaxed, with throwing random shit away and taking last minute boxes before I had to move the big stuff. Alex had to help me with that because I don't have a truck and I'm too small to carry a bed by myself. Unpacked for a most part. Now it's all the last minute stuff piddly crap that I have to unpack. I won't have any new pictures, but I've got plenty of books I still have to review o_o stay tuned for that!

trying not to be "that guy"

So, I finally did it. After resisting for years, I got an iPhone. My mom had one before me. She's try to send me some messages and they wouldn't go through because of how archaic my phone was in comparison. My phone would randomly beep in the middle of calls (and not because I was receiving any other messages or calls) and just not receive texts sometimes. The memory card slot was loose because sometimes it would recognize the micro SD card and other times it would say it had been ejected when I never touched it. Stupid phone. It was also rather entertaining on my trip in California because I was the only one without an iPhone. I didn't feel left out, but it did make navigation a little bit more difficult. Before work yesterday, I upgraded my phone so I didn't really get a chance to be an asshole and be glued to my phone to play around with it. I now have to re-watch Mad Men to catch everything. You can't be distracted when watching that show.

Last night, as we were closing, I got a random text from Cat (mraow! sidenote: she hates being called Cat, but it's a funny little joke with us) to come to Walter's. I wasn't going to, but when I saw Brian's van with all of its bumper stickers, I knew I needed to stop. B was on vacation and it's great to have him back. And thus begins my chronicle of things from last night to right now. I'm now on Instagram (lightread) so follow me.
