black and white drive

The first couple of days without the car were depressing. Things have been better lately. Friends and family have been helping with rides. I'm seriously grateful for everyone who has helped give me, my ma, and even Matt, a ride. It's good to know that I'm surrounded by wonderful people who are willing to do a solid for a friend. My aunt has been super helpful, too. I know she hates driving at night, but she still picks me up. Today, we went on a little stop to the Indian grocery store across from my job. I'd never been in there, but I'll be going there frequently. The food! The smells! I wanted everything, but settled on a couple of items. No need to go crazy. I'm really hopeful that the car situation will be resolved soon. Fingers crossed!

Occasionally, I like to return to old photographs after a lot of time has passed because I always find something that I didn't see before. What I like, what I look for in a photograph is constantly changing. It's fun to see what didn't work for you before is something you now love. These are examples of old photographs revisited. A 2012 visit to La Jolla, Ca.

I recently acquired presets for Aperture 3 through VSCO, just in time for my trip to Chicago. I can't wait to experiment with photographs old and new. This will motivate me to post more often. Thanks for being patient. ♥

don't call it a comeback

I've been slacking. I admit it. The first step is always admitting it. However, I've been working on recovering photos from my damaged SD card. I'm sure anyone can understand why I haven't been posting. I haven't been reduced to tears over it, yet. My computer just isn't recognizing it at all so I can't use any of the methods I've found to recover them. Blurgh! I have photos from Coronado to share so here we go!

la frontera

I didn't cross la frontera, but we chatted with border patrol and I asked if I could photograph them. We then walked along the pedestrian bridge and got a view of Tijuana and the traffic to get back into the United States. These were taken 03.03.12.

The line to drive back into the US was very long.
